You CAN install both updates into the same folder, but its a bit convoluted!
1, load the game, then shut it down
2, copy the "D" patch into the folder
3, run the game and let the patch load (the screen will spend some time black before the patch finalizes), then shut the game down.
4, DELETE the "updated" file in the game root.
5, copy the "F" patch into the game root
6, run the game and the new patch will install
