What on earth was going on? Mark stood in the street watching as crowds of screaming people ran past. He’s just got off the bus from Camden and walked around the corner when a black cab swerved past him, followed by this terrified mob. It was like something from a movie. In fact he gave a quick look around to see if he’d wandered onto a film shoot, but no, he couldn’t see any cameras, lighting, or barriers. The fear seemed genuine too. He had a sinking feeling in his stomach… maybe he should be running too. Just then a woman fell in front of him. She looked like she was in her mid thirties, in a simple, smart but drab outfit. She cried out as she fell and rolled over holding her knee. There was some blood but it didn’t look like a serious wound. Mark snapped to attention and reached down to pull her up before she was trampled. Their eyes met, and he saw terror in her wild stare. “Run!” The woman screamed at him as she pulled free from his hand and hobbled away in the crowd. “Run! She’s coming!”

Mark’s brow furrowed. What on earth did that mean? Who is “she”? It was then that just above the noise of the crowd her heard a thud, and then another, and another. The thuds grew clearer with every passing second until he began to feel them coming up through his feet from the ground. It was then that he turned to look at the end of the road ahead of him. He saw a foot plant itself in the street. Plant itself across the street, and he could see it from here. The foot was in a trainer at least the size of a car, if not the length of a bus. The foot was that size too. He looked up. His eyes kept going up past the tops of the buildings as she rounded the corner. He kept looking up until he reached her face. She was a young woman who must have been in her early twenties. She wore wide legged jeans and a casual shirt. She had an air of wide eyed innocence about her as she stared down on the world at her feet, seemingly as amazed as the crowds running from her. She was enormous, the buildings only coming up to her hips. She must have been over a hundred feet tall. Plenty big enough to stop traffic. Mark turned and ran.
