Don't know the exact solution to your problem. But, you can try a couple generic solutions to these type of problems:

1) Try running the game as Administrator.
2) Try extracting the game to a non-system drive.
3) Delete the game and all registry values associated with it. Extract a fresh copy of the game and then try saving.

Apart from these generic solutions, I have nothing specific to offer you.

** If you want to know how to save the game, look for a red power button near the top right of the game window. Click the button, it will give u 3 options - Click 'Save and Quit', select the save slot, press OK and DONE !!!!

the problem with rpgs in japanese, is that: if I don't fucking know what I need to do, I can't get to the good parts!

Yeah, the reg option doesn't work given the fact that now the data is stored individually on savefiles, i hope there's a way to make it work again with reg editing, at least we have option like yours.

The RegEdit method was working till the previous version of the game. In v0.05, a new save system has been implemented that stores the saves locally in files instead of saving in registry values.

In this version, the registry entries take their values from the save and are updated dynamically. So, even if you change registry values, they will revert back, after an action.

That's why, had to resort to this. If you are able to make the RegEdit method work again, please do let me know as it was way easier than hex-editing. :)

Found a way to alter the stats ! Follow the instructions below:

* Please create a backup of your save file before tampering with it. Modified files cannot be restored.

1. Access the game's save file at " C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\LocaLow\KsTgames\The Twist\playerInfo#.dat " where # denotes the save slot.

2. Open the save file with Notepad. You will see a lot of gibberish. That's fine.. Close it !

3. Download a hex editor or use an online hex editor to open the save files (*.dat). I personally prefer HxD portable version.

4. Note the value of the stat you want to change. E.g. Suppose your relationship with Mom is 45 and you want to increase this.

5. Convert the stat value to hexadecimal using Windows Calculator. So 45 (Decimal) = 2D (Hexadecimal).

6. Now, open the save file in the hex editor. You will see the hexadecimal values on the left side and the conversion on the right side (as is shown in HxD Hex Editor).

7. Now search for the stat's hexadecimal value i.e. 2D in the left Hexadecimal side of the editor (probably somewhere in the lower portion as the top hexadecimal portion mostly contains the game variables' name as is evident by the converted text in the right half of the editor.

8. Now, replace the stat's hex value with a hex value of your choice. E.g. if you want your relationship with Mom to be 300, '2D' will be replaced by the hex value of 300 i.e. '12C'. But there is some manipulation to be done. Since hex values in hex editors are in pairs, therefore '12C' becomes '01 2C' and it has to be entered as '2C 01' ('<Second Half> <First Half>' format). Thus, ultimately, '2D' will be replaced by '2C 01'.

9. Save the file and replace the original save file with the modified one.

10. Load the game and VOILA ! Your stats have been set to the desired values.

NOTE: Guys ! I know that it feels like a chore, but trust me, try it and you will get the hang of it pretty fast.
