Debbie, Kenneth and Wayne went to the same high school.

Since Kenneth was a good friend of Wayne's, by necessity, she also hung out with Wayne.

Wayne was something else altogether: the school hunk that all the girls went for, and whom he happily consumed at the slightest opportunity. He wasn't stupid at all, but he was pretty lazy, and without Kenneth's help, he would have had a harder time finishing school.

As the months went by, they also became romantically involved and ended up going out together. After two years together, they got married. Kenneth worked in a power station, while Debbie had a lot of work as a freelance graphic designer.

The story begins shortly after Kenneth received the kind of promotion you don't turn down: assistant chief engineer at a power plant near Miami. No sooner said than done: they're moving!
